Hello! So I’ve been trying to get a new textured brush, but it’s not quite working out how I’d like it. Though I’m not sure if this is just how it is and I won’t be able to do anything about it.
Okay so, when I’d select a new texture (75x75 canvasas required) that I’d, let’s say, made in Photoshop by smacking a messy splotch of black right in the middle, and try to use it, the brush uses the entire square of the image instead of using the pixels themselves. I’ve tried fully black texture samples with varying texture size settings and you can still see the awkward cropping border between each of the image squares in the brush stroke. I’d really like to know how to get this working the same way in other softwares, if it even can be helped at all.
So, a sort of related smaller problem: I have no idea how textures are applied to brushes and how they work in other softwares, but I know they /work/. So just to make sure, I tried taking a blotmap from PaintTool SAI’s folders, opened it in Photoshop, sized it down to 75x75 and saved it as a .psd (since it TB would only let me use .psd’s or .tga’s), and for some reason it would be rejected and I would get two error pop-ups saying TB couldn’t read and load the texture, which was even a weirder problem.
So there’s that, if anyone could lend some advice with this it would be such a huge help! Thanks.
