Background Don't Wanna Be A Background!

Hi,

I have a weird problem (as usual).

I’ve made an animation that is still at linework stage. It’s a series of statues in a field with the sun in the background.

I made the sky, sun and fields as separate layers in this order:
Sky on the bottom, Sun in the middle, Field in the foreground. And the statues are on top of this.

Here’s where it gets weird. I coloured them all in, bar the statues, but now they don’t want to be backgrounds anymore! No matter what I do, the sky has decided to sit over the field and the sun sits over everything. It seems the statues still sit over the field but the sky sits over them.

It doesn’t make any sense because the order I have them in, in the Exposure sheet is the same; Sky on the bottom, Sun in the middle, Field in the foreground.

Could anyone shed some light on my strange predicament? This is the first time I’ve come across this problem in months of using the software.

Thanks in advance,

Ok, it’s sorted.

Though my layers were in the right order, they weren’t positioned that way in 3D view. Will keep an eye on that from now on.

Thanks anyway.
