I know this is a total noob question, but here goes.
I am trying to animate imported cut out images.
When you import an image, it comes in as a symbol. Got that. It makes it easy to move around, and what not.
How do I get it to the point where I can use the cutter, and handle the symbol as I would an image.
What I am getting at, is I would like to be able to slice out a mouth, edit it, make a series of mouths, so I can use some lipsync detection.
Then slice up, and move some stuff around to be able to swap images, to make expressions etc on my subject.
I would also like to be able to slice arms, legs off as well. Do I really have to make a million tid bit symbols in photoshop, import, fit, re-size etc… to try to make this happen?
All I want is an external PSD or PNG to come into to animate like a character does that I drew in animate.
I know this can be done, I am just missing something simple here.
- using TB animate build 7.6, on PC
The easiest way to do this is not to work in symbols.
Select the symbol’s cell in the imported layer, then go Edit > Expand Symbol. Now you will have a second duplicate layer that is not in a symbol. You can unparent the expanded layer from the original then delete the original symbol.
Hope this helps.
