Hello there, I’m pretty new to TB but I have a question 
Is it possible to add some kind of interactive ‘button’ to start the animations? or a way to create a button that can mute/unmute any audio that’s playing?

Not in Toon Boom products directly but you can take animation created with Toon Boom software and add interactivity using other software.
