1st toon done but still youtube problems

Howdy. I got my first toon on myspace but still having trouble on you tube.
I’ve been using sizes-320x240 or 640x480, compression is H.264,key frames set to all. I’m not sure about data rate and I keep the encoding at best quality. After several hours of experimenting with compressions and sizes I’m getting frustrated. I’ve read about youtube alot in this forum. I’m looking for animation sites as well. It looks great on my computer with quick time player. Any suggestions appreciated. thanks.m You can check my toon/primitive comic under my bio at

I’ve been through this. I haven’t been able to get a direct from Toom Boom 3.5 export that will play on YouTube. They play in real time with true audio, but the animation advanced only every 10 seconds or so.

For me the only solution was to open the .mov file exported from Toom Boom in Quicktime Pro 7.4 and re-export with the following settings:

FILE FORMAT: MP4 (ISMA), Video
VIDEO FORMAT: MPEG4 Improved
DATA RATE: 256
OPTIMIZED FOR: Download, Letterbox
IMAGE SIZE: 352 X 288 CIF
FRAMERATE: 30
KEYFRAME: Every, 24 frames

Audio I did not deviate from default, which was:
AAC-LC Music, Stereo, 128 kbps, 44.100 kHz
Streaming: None

The quality isn’t the greatest, but after so many attempts, I was happy to get it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkVaToHh1sY&feature=channel

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot. mm

Didn’t really improve it but I needed to download quicktime with exporting features anyway. If anybody has other ideas please let me know. thanks.mm

Export it right from Toon Boom, as a Quick Time Video, go into settings, and change the compression filter to MPEG-4. Also, if this doesn’t work, set keyframes to all, sometimes youtube only plays key frames.
