16 bit grayscale PSDs

Had a problem earlier where I couldn’t import PSD files with layers, SB Pro 2 would just bring them in as a flattened image. Turns out the artist was working in 16 bit grayscale. After converting to 8 bit in Photoshop, SB Pro 2 imported them with layers intact.

Might be a good notation for the manual, couldn’t find any reference to this as I was trying to figure out the problem.

Yeah, when I read that it didn’t occur to me to it didn’t explicitly list gray-scale but then did say it could only do 8-Bit RGBA. Good to know.

“Toon Boom Storyboard Pro DOES NOT SUPPORT IMPORT OF 8-BIT CMYK OR 16-BIT RGB OR CMYK FORMAT PSD FILES. YOU CAN CURRENTLY IMPORT ONLY 8-BIT RGBA FORMAT PSD FILES”

Hello,

It actually is in the documentation. It is on page 222 of the SBP 2 SP1 User Guide, in the section Importing Images as Layers.
